About
I'm a physics grad from Union College who writes software, runs experiments, and turns complex ideas into working code. My work spans AI/ML engineering, computational physics, and quantum computing.
My senior thesis tackled finite-difference quantum eigenvalue problems. I've also built ML pipelines for computer vision, created physics simulations and visualizations, and earned three IBM Quantum credentials.
Now
A snapshot of what I'm actively working on, exploring, and thinking about right now.
Building AI-powered voice and text agents at NextDimension AI that handle patient requests 24/7. Working on the full pipeline — NLP, intent recognition, workflow orchestration, and the AI+Human handoff layer.
Deep-diving into hardware-efficient quantum error correction via concatenated bosonic qubits. Following the latest research out of Google and IBM on making fault-tolerant quantum computing practical.
Going beyond prompt engineering into building production LLM systems — RAG pipelines, tool-use patterns, evaluation frameworks, and agentic architectures. Applying this directly in the work at NextDimension.
Looking at where to take the finite-difference quantum solver next — potentially extending to 2D/3D systems, time-dependent problems, or scattering states. Thinking about what makes a good follow-on project.
Work
A mix of research, coursework, and personal builds across AI/ML, computational physics, and quantum computing.
Numerical solutions for 1D quantum mechanical eigenvalue problems using finite-difference methods, solving the time-independent Schrödinger equation with sparse Hamiltonian matrices.
Jupyter notebooks solving physics problems via numerical methods (bifurcation, chaos, finite differences, Monte Carlo).
Programmatic animations using Manim to explain math/physics concepts through code-defined scenes.
Modern, responsive portfolio website built with Astro showcasing my quantum computing research, software projects, and professional experience.
Python scripts & Jupyter notebooks used to study for and pass IBM’s Qiskit certifications.

Testimonials
"Josh is a proactive and enthusiastic technologist who is learning and quickly understanding the complexities of business. He is an analytical thinker by breaking down complex problems and solving them in pieces. Josh has proven time and again his persistence and dedication to his craft - often reaching out to me for mentoring and/or guidance - which I am thrilled to provide. He has a clear vision and passion for where he wants to go and I have found him to be fully reliable and someone I can always count on! I can’t wait to see him flourish in his post collegiate career!"
